I thought I would have a bit of a change from fancy fold cards – ok so the reality is I haven’t had chance to make a video on the card I was planning and as you read this I will be on my way to the South Ionian for a week of sailing…
So instead, here’s a way to dress up one of the mini wine bottles (or some perfume perhaps!) and make a co-ordinating bow out of DSP.
Card: One sheet International A4 in chosen colour, scrap of Whisper White and colour for stamping/punching
DSP – 8 pieces 3/4 x 4 1/4; two strips 1cm x 30,5 cm (3/8 x 12 inches)
With the long edge at the top, score the card at 2 1/4, 6 3/4 9 3/4 , 10 3/4(5,5 17cm, 24,5 cm and 27cm)
On the short edge score every inch (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (2,5cm, 5 cm, 7,5 cm, 12,5 cm, 15 cm, 17,5 cm 20 cm)
Follow the video to mark the mid points of four of the sections and score using a ruler
Trim away excess (see image below) and cut up to the bottom score line to make the base tabs.
Glue opposite tabs together and add a punched circle to finish off if you prefer
Gently fold the top together and corner round and notch out the final tab if needed
To make the bow, cut a star framelit out of spare cardstock and wind the strip around the shape, using glue dots to adhere as you turn. Make and second bow and attach on top of each other off-setting slightly, make a loop from the spare strip and adhere to the middle
I hope you enjoy making this – I have a couple of other ideas for similar boxes, let me know if you are interested
